We lost a kitten this week to a snake bite, then yesterday I saw one of our adult cats staring intentley at something in our empty pool. I went to him aand in the bottom was a snake about 6'. A muddy brown in colour. I picked the cat up, and took him indoors, and got the snake book out, and told my wife. Looked through the book, and satisfied myself it was a kind of rat snake. So decided to leave it alone. My wife then threw a cup of water at it and oops the hoods out. A monoculated cobra, the 3rd in or around the house in 6 months, all different colour types too. So she called the son-in-law to despatch it. I am usually a let 'em alone type, but a potential killer had to go I'm afraid.
