apetley Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I took my Triton to the local car wash yesterday as it was not looking it's best. A team of about 8 worked on it giving it a good clean inside and then washed and polished all over including the underside. The car wash is staffed by a Burmese couple and their own crew. Just as they finished I noticed the boss 'write' with his fingertip something imaginary across the tailgate. Very slowly and deliberately. Didn't tell the wife as she is easily spooked by 'black magic' and that sort of stuff but I was intrigued to know what he had written. Protection, the same as the monks blessing the car, or curse as in 'lets get the nasty farang'(joking by the way) Anyone else had a similar experience? They do a great cleaning job by the way, takes about an hour and costs 250 Bht for a full valet. If you are ever near the Caltex garage, Phanomtuan, 25k's north of Kanchanaburi I can recommend them
cm-happy Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Look on the positive side! A blessing and that would would return soon and often as a frequent regular customer.
kash Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I am sure he wrote: "Please keep your distance from my most valued customer ...."
micksterbs Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Hmm; intriguing. I'll ask TW and post back later. Of course, it may just have been, <deleted> THAN SHWE!

torrenova Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I don't pay Bt250 in Pattaya. Local mob near me are Bt150. The robbers at BigC want something like Bt3/400.
Jareddiving Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I pay 180 Baht in Pattaya. Inside/outside/engine/underneith the car. If i buy 10 tickets it only costs me 1400 Baht.
micksterbs Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Well, I asked TW and at first she thought it was definitely a blessing. But then after she actually read the post for herself, she wasn't so sure. I can't get a reply out of her now. Gulp!

If I suddenly stop posting you know I've fallen foul of the "Curse of the Burmese Carwash".
