This is my first time on this forum. So hello to everybody!!! :o I met my fiance October last year and we are getting married on February 16th in Bangkok. Couple of questions I have, in my covering letter for the ECO I have stated that I met my wife for the first time through a dating agency. Agency is called 'Thailand Professional Introduction Services' and the proprietors are the infamous Lawrence and Thapanee Lynch. Up to now I have found them excellent with every aspect. As ive been to thailand 3 times previous and it is VERY difficult to find a nice lady who doesnt work in the bar scene. Is it a bad thing that im being 100% honest and stating that we met through this dating site?? I cant imagine how dating sites can be so bad as we have many of them here in England and it seems to be a big part of the future in dating. I just hope the ECO doesnt frown about how we met?? Majority of couples who submitt their Settlement applications from using their service are accepted. So is it possible the Embassy think that meeting through this company is a good thing? As most men are genuine serious people and many of the women are marriage minded who have proper jobs in and around bangkok. Anyone have any views on this?? And should I remain 100% honest about this??

It's not bad at all. Many Thai citizens who have met a UK spouse through dating sites have gone on to get settlement visas. However, your wife will otherwise have to demonstrate that she meets the requirements of the immigration rules, one criterion of which is to show an intention to live together permanently in the U.K. If the trip in February will be your first meeting with the lady, and you will marry having only known each other "in the flesh", so to speak, for a matter of days, it is always possible the the visa officer may infer from this that the intention to live together is unfulfilled.

thankyou so much for your message. yes we have already met. we met at end of october. i met her parents in bangkok and went to the family home which is a family business hair salon. and we spent 10 days in pattaya. Im flying back out there on 11th februrary and having the wedding with all her freinds and family. Yes, we will both be intending to live together as I have my own house on a mortgage. Got plenty of documents here and a letter from my local council stating that i have adequate accomodation to house her on her arrival.
