How Much To Pay Employee For Gas/car?

Featured Replies

My secretary is using her car (2007 Toyota Vios) tu run a few errands every day, I was wondering how much should I reimburse her for. I was thinking to pay for each KM, how much per KM would be a fair amount? Does anyone have experience with this in Thailand? Back home I had the numbers suggested/accepted by the government for tax deductions, etc.

I would think if she is driving in Bangkok with all the stop and starting then 5 baht per KM would be a fair amount.

Without going down the taxation path benifit in kind etc etc 5 Baht a Km is fine.

Fuel costs will be about 3 baht per Km anyway.

It might be wise to agreed in writting what the situation will be if the car is damaged during one of these little trips.

We pay 7.2 baht/km for a car and 3.6 baht/km for a motorcycle. This rate includes the usual (as in Europe) depreciation, insurance, petrol, maintenance.
