February 6, 200818 yr I adore my little lovely Thai wife from Petchabun. She lives with me here in Kobe, Japan now as a spouse of a permananent resident (me). I have been living here in Japan for 9 years now and am fed up with it and want to relocate to Thailand or America. I am American. I was wondering if I could simply bring her to America on a tourist Visa, and then once we're there apply for the green card. Is it possible? Thanks Ryan

If you tried, she might get tagged with visa fraud and deported and banned. People will do this with a girlfriend. Have them come on a tourist visa, then get married and adjust status. But if you are already married, and she comes in on a tourist visa, it would look even more like she planned to immigrate. Best to go the Direct Consular Filing (DCF) I-130 route. Check with the US embassy in Japan (actually the Dept. Homeland Security).
