Your emergency contact cannot be your Thai wife - only British citizens or similar are allowed. The Death in Thailand section is interesting, though: 1. Your emergency contact cannot be your Thai wife - only British citizens or similar are allowed. That's most odd as I, and my daughter, are registered with the British Embassy in Bangkok. My wife (my daughter's mother) is a Thai national AND we have been married legally for several years. However, registration is done in person every year. Astral is correct when he says that the website facility for registration has restricted options. Don't know why!!!
