Stich Up At Aranyaprathet Visa Run

hi all

the other weekend i needed to do a visa run (multi non o ) so i decided to drive myself to aranyaprathet instead of going with a visa company , for which they charge 2000 baht, well as i have a new pick up i thought it would be a nice run out ,, ha ha ha stuck in traffic for hours then when i arrived at the border first thing that cropped up was a casino guard trying to make me pay 300 baht for parking in a free car park?? ,so he got told what he could go and do with his whistle , then these thai guys tryed it on with telling me that they will get me the camodian visa for 1200 baht, and a tip of 100 baht after i told them where they could go for free (im holding back on the exact words i used) i already had my visa i left the thai side with no problems , but as i walked to the cambodian check point a immergration officer stopped me and asked me to go in his office so thats what i did,

on closing the door he turned round and said that i had to pay him 500 baht to get an entry and exit stamp so that i could re enter thailand i explained to him that i had a visa and would just go to the check point and get stamped in then spend a few hours at the casino then return and get an exit stamp then return to thailand , with this he said no you can not do that you must spend 24 hours in cambodia before returning to thailand ,

but for 500 baht i will stamp your passport with entry and exit stamp then you have no problem , so the argument started he threatend not to stamp my passport at all and then i would not get back in to thailand without his stamps and that i could stay in no mans land for free , i knew that this was crap but for a good 30 mins he tried every trick in the book to make me pay , in the end i walked out and told him to follow me to the check point if he wanted too ,

guess what he declined he growled something at me and went back in his office , i had no problem going through the border and stayed for 5 mins then returned to the thai side with no more hassle ,whole trip ended up costing me over 2000 baht so next time its the coach for me ,, ps they tried to charge me 450 baht for a carton of L&Ms as well

so thailand is not so bad after all

Went there once also in a car and they tore my mate's new $20 so he had to pay Bt1000. Also tried to scam for Bt200 for the in and out stamps. It is a shit hole and I'd advise anyone to avoid like the plague.
