I'll be going to Viang Chan to get a new type O Visa in a couple of weeks. How long does it take to travel from the Thai Embassy in Viang Chang to the Train Station in Nongkhai? The overnight train from Nongkhai leaves at 18:20 and I've booked tickets for the same day that I will be picking up the new Visa.

Depends on the immigration queues at the Vien border re-entering Thailand...once you have cleared immigration, it takes about ten minutes -fifteen minutes to the train station. You could be line for five mniutes or even an hour or more

yep totally agree, once ya get ya pp back ya might as well head for the border cos most likely all the people at the embassy will be doing the same and either catching same train or going for same plane!
