Travelling To Aranyaprathet - Poipet

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am interested to travel from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport to Aranyaprathet, then to Poipet. First timer for me.

Any information on mode of travelling from the airport to Aranyaprathet...... trains, buses, hotels and etc would be much appreciated. Can I use Thai Baht in Poipet ?

Thanks.

The bus would be your likely option as a mode of regular transport. I would say you can use the BHT there as well.

If you take a taxi to the nearest train station from the airport, Hua Takhe, (10-15 minutes, about 50 baht - 100 with the airport surcharge) there are regular trains to Aranyaprathet on the SRT Eastern Line. You can dowload a timetable here. It takes about 4 hours by train. I think you can get a bus directly from the airport bus terminal. Bus would be faster, but the train would be more interesting, in my opinion.

train is just 2/day, mostly inconvenient times and only 3d cl=hard wooden/plastic seats.

DIRECT bus from the BUSstation at swampy (get there by free whiter ashuttlebus from either arr or dep), at 8.30 and 14.00 (or maybe 14.30), DIRECT to BOrder and also stopping before in Aran-town proper. if times suit you, by far the easiest way to go.

Or else go to busstation anyway and ask about buses to nearby en-route places, like Prachinburi or so, all with an easy change into frequent Aran-bound buses.
