I think Hong Kong has a bad history when dealing with Visa Runners that have come from Thailand... but look forward to seeing the outcome.

You will be fine with Hong Kong - just tell Immigration there that you are coming to visit friends or to take a holiday for a few days or to attend a meeting - they really don't care about Thailand and visa's.

did not care, all was fine. Hong Kong consulate was a 15 minute affair, 7 minutes to drop off, 7 minutes to pick up next day.
