Hello. I am a Canadian citizen and purchased two 60 day tourist visa's before entering the country. I have reviewed the information on this website about the visa extension, and my understanding is I can go to an immigratin office and get an extension on my first visa for 30 days , then do a border run to activate the second visa, and again extend the second visa another 30 days making two tourist visa's last six months in total. Is this correct? I am recieving alot of mixed information from the locals here and can not seem to contact anyone at the embassy via phone.

Thank you for the information.

If you have a double entry tourist visa, you can use it to enter the country twice.

Each entry will allow you 60 days. Near the end of the 60 days, you can go to immigration in Thailand and extend your stay. You should be able to get 30 days extension. There have been a few reports of people needing to show a plane ticket leaving at the end of the 30 days, otherwise they give out a 7 day extension. These instances seem pretty few and it is almost an automatic 30 days.

Just make sure that you exit and re-enter Thailand prior to the expiration date on your visa. That is the date on the Visa, because you may still have some days left on your permitted to stay stamp, and if you wait until then, your visa would have expired.
