Krabi Vice Governor Thanwakom Khemasiri led responsible officials to inspect shops and garages in the Krabi municipality area which modify motorcycles into tricycles. The move follows increasing numbers of the vehicles being used for hire or taking tourists as passengers to places. Many are seen in popular tourist destinations like Ao Nang and Lanta Island. He pointed out to the manufacturers that the vehicles are not safe to take passengers and that the law does not allow this either. The Vice Governor said at this stage they try to educate and make people understand before legal action is implemented.
