Branded Sportswear Cheaper In Thailand? And Where To Get?

Where do I get branded sportswear in Thailand, and is it cheaper than in Singapore?

I intend to get shirts, shorts, shoes even.

Yupp. Any recommendations in BKK, preferably around the Pratunam Mall area?

I just bought some Nike football boots; would have been the same price to buy them in the US.

I don't think the real brand name stuff here is any cheaper. But the fake stuff of course is.

Your only hope is waiting for a sale at a legit store in Bangkok (super sports etc.). Without those 20-40% discounts, it can get expensive.

Some of the "factory outlets" places have some bargains, but nothing really special, tbh.

I wonder how I am supposed to tell what is genuine and what is fake,

even in the department stores??

When I buy a Rolex on the street for $20 I do so knowing it is fake.

However I have bought a watch in a department store in Korat,

only to be told later that it is fake....... :o

I don't know the prices in Singapore, but typically any branded items manufactured in Thailand are (much) cheaper here than they are in Europe. Lacoste and Nike manufacture in Thailand. There are probably other brands too that I am not aware of.

These days I buy Lacoste in India, same price different currency ( THB 31/ 1 USD, INR 40/ 1USD), so I safe about 25%.

Roughly Lacoste in Thailand costs only 50-60% of the same item in Europe.

Anything you buy in a department store is original, watch out however for small stalls you typically find in big shopping centres.

You should have gone to the shops by the national stadium. I remember the Adidas F50+ was a bit more than half the price of malls.

And probably triple what it would be @ Patpong.. :o

Totally agree.

I remember purchasing a pair of supposedly genuine Reebok tennis shoes which starting falling apart from the first wear. I purchased them at MBK. They looked the deal, but I was convinced that they were dodgy knock-offs.

In regards to shoes, I reckon it would be virtually impossible to know for sure whether the shoes you're looking to buy are genuine...

Unless you go direct to the 'Adidas'/Nike etc. stores...

Where at MBK? Department store there is called Tokyu and they get their stuff from Reebok, all other shops stock themselves god knows where.

Sales at the department stores are you best bet. Stay away from small vendors unless they are genuine Adidas/Nike outlets.

Genuine sportswear is produced by thousands of factories, but some of it gets rejected for a number of reasons and then sold anywhere BUT the legit stores.

And then there are real fakes that have nothing to do with Adidas whatsoever.
