What kind of visa can I get under these circumstances?

For the last 2 years I had retirement visa 1 year each.This year I don't have the funds. I have a Thai child born in Thailand 2 years ago. Married to his Thai mother she ran away 6 months ago, and I am not trying to find her. I am over 51. What kind of visa can a single farang father get raising a Thai child? Please advise.

There is no visa status (except you can obtain non immigrant O visas to visit). But being over age 50 there is an extension of stay provision to live with Thai child that does not require financial means. This is designed for child to take care of parents in old age so believe court or government action/paperwork may be required for a child of this age. The regulation is Police Order 606/2006 section 7.17 para 5. You might want to talk with immigration about it and be aware some offices may have a better handle on this new provision than others.
