Tourist Visa In Kuala Lumpur

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have started 1 one year sabbatical from work and wish to spend it in Thailand.

I came in on a 30 day stamp with a canadian passport.

When I came here, I took a 1 year return flight wich occurs in March 2009.

I am going to KL on the 22nd in order to try and get a 6/3 months tourist visa.

My questions are:

Will they deduct 30 days on my visa when they see that I just was in Thailand on a 30 day stamp?

does a 6 months tourist visa still exist or is it just 3 months?

In KL:

Will I need to show a bank statement or internet printout?

Will I need to show my appartment lease?

will I need to show a flight out ticket within the following 6/3 months or is my return flight in March 2009 sufficient?

Thank you for helping me out,

Philippe

1. A tourist visa entry for CDN passport is 60 days - having been here on visa exempt will not effect that.

2. A tourist visa normally has a 3 month validity - 2,3,4 could have up to six month validity but it varies by Consulate/applicant.

3. I doubt that you will receive more than a single entry visa and that should not require more than normal proof of 20k funds to support your stay (usually not checked).

4. Tourists normally do not have apartments - believe that might be counter-productive.

5. Normally not asked for.
