Baaksida
How to remove "Hotbar" and "DAP bar" from the computer? It's not really Thailand-related, but any good advice and experience would be appreciated...
Wolfie
I would suggest running Spybot - Search & Destroy on your system to remove any spyware/malware. That should remove most of the dross from your system. Post here if you get any further problems after this.

Prevnetion is better than cure... Stop visiting those porn sites!! Seriously though, Spybot Search and Destroy does take care of most of the crap on your computer, and Adaware cleans out your unwanted cookies and such. Both should be updated regularly. Firefoxx
Well, if you still want to surf freely (including porn sites), then you should stop using IE and switch to Firefox or Opera. The vast majority of spyware/trojans/viruses target IE, and if you're not using IE, then you most probably won't get infected by them. I remember that hotbar has a specific remover, that you download from the hotbar site.
Tippaporn
I remember that hotbar has a specific remover, that you download from the hotbar site. So far the advice here is good, but may not be enough. Depending on the type of spyware/malware you have removal may not be as easy as you think. Installed hotbars that provide a downloaded remover claim to remove it but can and do leave other remnants that you aren't aware of. The rule of thumb here is that these people aren't honest to begin with and therefore can't be trusted at all. Besides installing free scanners, such as Lavasoft's Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy it's good to have resident protection (which Spybot also includes). JavaCool makes Spyware Blaster and Spyward Guard available as free downloads. These are highly recommended by the anti-spyware community. But be extremely careful in your choice of anti-spyware programs, since much of it is bogus and in cases will install spyware itself. Make sure that the programs are again recommended and/or used by the anti-spyware community. One of the best sites for comprehensive (and I mean comprehensive) information and help with spyware if a university-based site out of the U.S. This site is educational, provides updated listings of scam software and legit programs, covers browser security settings, alternative browsers, provides a downloadable listing of known spyware-producing sites (I think in the vicinity well over 1,000) to be included in your restricted sites zone, and offers free clean-up of your computer using volunteers and their own free software via their forum. Check them out here: Spyware Warrior Rogue-Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites Feel free to email me if you need more info/help.
