Both Yahoo Messenger and ICQ has free SMS built in.

You do know when you send SMS via Yahoo to someone in Thailand, the receiver get charged, right? Try it out for yourself. I did, but I don't remember the cost. It was something like 2 baht per message. I had a 1-2-Call sim card at the time.
