fester
Thai province to greet tourists with free pineapples Bangkok, July 26 They say that there is no such thing as a free lunch, but tourists visiting the Thai province of Prachuap Khiri Khan are to be treated to free fruits including the pineapples it is famous for. Mayor of the province, Prasongsuk Jaiyai has notified all restaurants in the region to offer free local pineapple to tourists. Noting that it would not greatly increase costs for the restaurants, Jaiyai said that the free pineapple would serve to boost tourism.
Dexlowe
Experienced Thailand hands might be inclined to ask WHERE they plan to serve the pineapple, but being a gentleman, I shall refrain from answering my own question. But yet another brilliant tourism promotion from yet another brilliant government official. How these people think these ideas up is beyond me. (Okay, okay, I know -- saracasm is the lowest form of wit, but really, one does have to wonder.)
