Ive been hunting down a good satellite package that contains mostly English speaking channels, with BBC news, and movies, and sport. I tried UBC last year but canceled the contract due to poor reception, and lack of reception when it rains, then for some reason BBC news just vanished. I now have true cable TV which is mostly Thai channels, and a couple of movie channels that continuously repeat day in day out. Perhaps if i was a competent electrical engineer i could master up a decoder box of my own and unscramble the UK terrestrial TV stations using high quality sat dishes etc

Go to Khlong Thom Market just north of Chinatown in BKK

there are many sat equipement sellers and installers, their receivers can decode all the pay channels.

You will have a problem finding a Sat system dedicated to english speaking channels, There a quite a few but they are transmitted through many different satellites , its a matter of sorting the wheat from the straw.

For under 20k you can get a PSI D,Move which gives you about 23 sats and over 400 channels which cover BBC , ABC , CNN, and several Indonesian channels that show english speaking movies nightly as well as the sports programmes,Formula 1 ,MotoGP and English and Asian football.

A look in the Bangkok Yellow pages under Sat Tv equipment providers will lead you to suppliers of more complex systems .

I find my PSI ok as it gives me most of the things I want to watch ,at least there are technicians (of varying skill levels)in just about any town in Thailand.
