Why Kamala Harris Lost: The Challenges of a Complex Campaign
Hopefully you won't be engaging in your usual anti Trump demonising any more either. He won, time to man up and accept it, and moved on. By all means attack his policies, but all that attacking the man achieved nothing. BTW, he won fair and square, almost from the start. He won the popular vote as well. I was expecting a drawn out process of court cases and recounts, but the rejection of Harris, a woman that never had a popular mandate, was overwhelming and no amount of hand wringing was going to change that. Even HRC won a primary to have legitimacy. One wonders just how the Dems got it so incredibly, so dramatically wrong. The only thing they succeeded at was covering up the reality, first that Biden wasn't a senile idiot for 3 years, and then that Harris had a chance. She didn't, never had and the election showed that in spades. Outright rejected in the swing states, and it wasn't even close. -

British Man Injured in Pattaya Road Rage Incident with Thai Driver
A British man sustained head injuries in a road rage incident with a Thai driver after a minor traffic collision led to a heated confrontation on Pattaya’s busy streets. The altercation took place near the LK Metro Hotel on Soi Buakhao in Pattaya’s Nong Prue district, Chonburi province. Local rescue services were alerted to the scene, where they found Mr. Edward, a British national, bleeding from a head wound and an open cut on his left arm. He claimed to have been struck with a weapon. Nearby, a Thai driver identified as Mr. Arthit, 35, stood with minor injuries. Rescue workers administered first aid on-site before transporting Mr. Edward to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Witnesses reported that the conflict began with a minor collision at an intersection near Leng Kee on Soi Buakhao, leading both drivers to pull over to resolve the matter. Mr. Edward had been riding a black Honda Scoopy motorcycle, accompanied by a Thai woman, while Mr. Arthit was driving a white Mitsubishi car. According to eyewitnesses, the drivers followed each other until they stopped in front of the LK Metro Hotel, where an argument quickly escalated. Bystanders reported that both men were visibly agitated and unable to reach an agreement. Witnesses stated that the situation intensified as Mr Edwards believed bystanders were taking sides. In the heat of the moment, Mr. Arthit, in a display of anger, reportedly grabbed a metal rod, he later claimed in self-defense and struck Mr. Edward, resulting in the British man’s injuries. The Pattaya Police are investigating the incident, reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to determine if charges will be filed. Authorities have urged the public to avoid confrontational behaviour and to settle disputes peacefully, particularly in busy public areas where emotions can easily run high. AIS data-only package
Hi, resurrecting the old thread, I'm in need of prepaid AIS data package. I've been with True for several years, 70 Gg monthly at 20 Mbps, 200 bath plus tax. It's an old pack but they keep renewing it every months and I'm happy. Now the not so happy part, True Move has holes around Beach Rd, it's been like this for years, coverage just stops for half a minute, sometimes longer. But often drop in coverage happens at the worst moment in the middle of zoom call. There are spots on Beach Rd where True coverage can become unbearably slow, for example Beach rd and soi 6 intersection. I'm most of Pattaya and In Bangkok, True is perfect. Does anyone know similar data pack at AIS, say, 50 Gb at 20 Mbps, I would just buy AIS SIM and use it with second SIM slot. I would stay with True only because banking apps are tied to my True number and changing the number with a bank is pain. NextG, you have always been on top of current data packs, what would your advice be if I buy data pack with AIS? -

Inmates Clash in Min Buri Prison, Results in Death, Weapons Seized
A violent altercation between inmates at Min Buri Special Prison on November 9, has led to the death of one prisoner and the capture of six others involved. Authorities reported the incident occurred at approximately 09:20. Pol. Lt. Col. Rattanachat Boonsinphrom from the Min Buri Police Station received the report, prompting an investigation alongside Metropolitan Police Division 3 Commander Maj. Gen. Kiattikul Sontharanee, Min Buri Police Chief Pol. Col. Krit Gomnoy, and forensic staff from the Police General Hospital. The incident unfolded beneath the dome in Section 5 of the prison, where corrections officers discovered the seriously injured body of inmate Yutthakarn, a Bangkok resident. Yutthakarn, a convicted criminal, sustained fatal stab wounds. He was rushed to Section 6 for urgent medical attention but later succumbed to his injuries. Six inmates have been identified as the perpetrators of the attack and are now in custody. The accused are: 1. Narong – charged with money laundering 2. Panupong – charged with drug offenses 3. Chokthavee – charged with theft 4. Chatchai – charged with drug offenses 5. Weerayuth – charged with theft 6. Watcharapong – charged with drug offenses The authorities seized several makeshift weapons used in the assault, including two sharpened metal rods with rope-wrapped handles and a spoon modified into a stabbing implement, all of which were retained as evidence. These items were secured after a thorough review of the prison’s surveillance footage, which allowed officers to reconstruct the incident. Preliminary investigations revealed that the dispute arose from prior tensions between two groups of inmates, from Romklao and Nong Chok, respectively. Reportedly, an earlier altercation led to members of the Nong Chok group assaulting Romklao inmates, fueled by accusations that one faction had implicated the other in drug-related arrests outside the prison. Interrogations revealed that Watcharapong, Chatchai, and Weerayuth admitted to initiating the attack in retaliation. Their group allegedly pursued Yutthakarn, kicking and stabbing him repeatedly, which ultimately led to his death. The six inmates now face charges of group assault leading to death and will remain in custody within the prison. Yutthakarn, who was serving a sentence related to assault and illegal methamphetamine use, had been incarcerated following a June 2024 conviction. In response to the incident, prison authorities plan to enforce stricter monitoring and conduct thorough inspections to prevent the use of improvised weapons within the facility. The incident has raised questions about prison security and the apparent leniency that allowed inmates to fashion weapons, prompting renewed calls for improved oversight in Thailand’s prison system. Thailand's Expats Urged to Register with TRD for Tax, Says Expert
25% of the workforce file tax returns, 11% of the workforce pays tax. Since the average wage in Thailand is 15k baht per month (200k per year) and the average tax threshold is 210k (60k personal allowance plus 140k zero rated for tax), that is not surprising. Note the population is 70 million, the workforce is 38 million.
