hrm i guess i wasn't allowed to post about it since it was sort of a solicitation, but can we post just to notify of the event? it is a charity party on june 15th (6p) in thong nai pan yai (koh phangan), at the yoga house near wang thong waterfall. should be big!

hey it's not my event, but apparently the plans are to have elephants, models doing a fashion show, 2 tv stations, a live band from BKK, etc. we'll have to see how it turns out. proceeds go to PAC.

News about the event in TNP-Yai

The event is on it's way to happen the 15th of this month. There are 1000 invitation only!

It say's on a website it is together with PAC, which I think is no more the case. Don't know why! There will be a stage, music, fashion show, belly dancing and some new shops under the "happy nature" logo. The location is just shortly before arriving in TNPY at the right hand side, near the waterfall. There are no adds on the island so far as I have seen. But read the website ;-)

The event is on it's way to happen the 15th of this month. There are 1000 invitation only!

It say's on a website it is together with PAC, which I think is no more the case. Don't know why! Now I understand! I saw around the island many vinyl banners in hebrew advert something. Now I connect with "Galit ben ami Production".

But I don't understand why no ads in english or thai. 15 of june is behind the door andnobody know of this party.

And the lowest season of the year...

as it says on the web page: 1000 INVITATION only, so I guess ther is no need to make adds, not for everybody ;-) probably kind of closed event. It say's also that there has been a successful foundraising for 6 million Baht in 21 day when I understand that right.

Whas there not long ago some postings in here, about the financial problems of PAC? Somebody is doing something very professional in TNP then I guess.

I know this woman personally and there are a lot of rumors flying around about her and this event... I also was confused until I went to visit her family yesterday.

Initially it was to be a fund raiser for PAC, but her lawyer advised her not to get involved with PAC for reasons I will not post here. So instead it is to fund 'Happy Nature' and 'Galit Ben Ami Productions', which is an umbrella for an events production company/philanthropic foundation being set up. Among other ventures they plan to start an animal care center in Thong Nai Pan. It is targeting the elite of KPG because she put a lot of effort into getting various sponsors for the event and thus needs to provide an audience capable of bringing them some return.

The lady in charge comes off as very eccentric- she has big dreams! But from what I hear she is someone who can actually make many of them come true. She is a good business woman with financial backing and she has been working non-stop to get this set up. It may not turn out exactly the way she hoped in the end but guaranteed it will be good in the long run.

PAC is not very convenient/useful for those who live in Thong Nai Pan.

1) Confirmed: PAC is not receiving a cent from this event.

Anyone wishing to donate to the only established, non-profit animal care center in KPG, should do so directly through PAC.

2) "10% of the day's takings will go to the organization" - hmm... where will the other 90% of takings go to?

3) Why is this event being held in such an obviously dangerous and drug-infested place?

4) How may I become part of the 1000 KPG elite?

apparently it goes to the Happy Nature foundation and to Galit Ben Ami Productions- for future events and projects... and also pays back the sponsors.

beats me- i can't imagine there are 1000 elite people on the island but we'll see how it goes. i won't be there this weekend so maybe some others who are can post the results!

Well, since this event is definitely a self-funding "charity" event and promotion of events like this are discouraged by the owners of this site

***EDIT**** According to a poster who has PM"d me, the event has been cancelled. Regardless, forum policy does not allow promotion of charity events since it is nearly impossible to verify who is out for themselves and who is for real
