Hikage Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Hi, I bought a D-Link DSL-500G in Thailand some time ago and recently tried to connect it to my laptop in Australia. The AC/DC adaptor is 230V-50Hz. Would this be close enough for Australia's 240V? When I plug it in the power LED lights and the Status and ADSL LEDs blink which I think is normal (not connected to phone outlet). However, the Ethernet LED does not light (network cable is connected). In XP the local area netwok icon in the system tray had a red x and says "network cable is unplugged". I'm pretty sure the cable is fine as I've recently used it. Resetting modem settings had no effect. I've not fired up this modem for a good 3 years. I don't have any driver disc for this and I think XP should atomatically recognise this device. Any idea?
Guest Reimar Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 You've three choices: 1: Modem; 2. NIC in your computer and 3. the Ethernet cable! You'll need to check all three maybe! Cheers.
