Advice Needed On Non-immigrant O Visa ... Please :)

Featured Replies

A friend of mine recently obtained a non-immigrant O visa in Ireland and returned to Thailand on 28 April 2008. Immigration gave her a stamp which stated that she was admitted until 26 July 2008 (about 90 days). Despite trying to clear this up with immigration, she is still unsure how this date can be extended to cover her stay for a full year. She is married to a fellow Irish national who is working here as a teacher in an international school.

Any advice on what she should do in July would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

If she has a multi entry non-o then that is correct, you are allowed an entry for a maximum of 90 days.

Just before the 90 days are up she will have to make a border run and get herself stamped in for another 90 days.

That is all a visa allows. If her husband is here on a one year extension of stay she can extend to match his stay at a cost of 1,900 baht/4x6cm photos and copy of his passport/extension of stay/marriage certificate. If he is here on 90 day visa entries that is the best she can obtain.

Her husband is on a one-year visa, so I presume she will be able to extend it when he does.

Thank you very much for your help apetley and lopburi3. :o

She can extend it during the last 30 days of her permission to stay.

The school should be able to take care of it for her.
