Karaoke Manager Registers Complaint with Police

In the hour or so before sparrow fart on Thursday morning a 25-year-old Thai male, accompanied by four Thai females, walked into the Soi 9 police station and asked to register a complaint to the daily logs clerk about an alleged assault and threats he had received from a group of five Copyright police who had come to the karaoke bar where he is the manager.

The man, the son of the owner of the bar, located at the Made in Thailand complex on Second Road, claimed five men who said they were Copyright police but who refused to show their identification had come into his bar and impounded CDs, videos and stereo system.

When the manager confronted them, he claims he was threatened with physical violence by the Copyright officers. He then decided to make a statement of the event to local police and was accompanied by four female employees who witnessed the incident. Police duly took a statement and had it signed and stamped before the complainants went home.
