Nope, thanks tho. the drive has to be either repaired or the platters taken out to repair, the circuit board was fried

If you've an scanner, please scan the Label of the HDD and the PCB-Board as well and post here or send me by PM the pic's. May I can help.

Been through this recently with a friends laptop hardrive that failed.

There are no local recovery cleanroom labs. All the local companies are fronts/agents for Singapore or US operations, they will charge you an "appraisal fee" and then pass it on. Costs from $500US-$2000US + shipping depending on the amount of data to be recovered.

No guarantee you will get anything back.

Ok, thanks for all the advice all. what I may do is purchase a duplicate HD and swap out the power PCB on the bottom. that should do it. since its still under warrenty i'll just send the now broken one back to repair.
