Questions About Going To Laos To Get A 2 Month Visa In Vientiane

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I am in chiang Mai and need to leave the country and get a 2 month tourist VISA From somewhere. Was thinking the cheapest place to do it would be to fly to UdonThani, bus it to Nong Khai, over frendship bridge, stay in Vientiane get the visa and come back.

Does this sound about right? or is there an easier way to do this. Also, can anyone recommend where to stay. dont want to spend more than 700Baht a night and want internet (WiFi), Air and TV with satalite channels.

How long does the VISA take? What is there to do in Vientiane? is there anywhere to go out at night? clubs, bars etc.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kish

Hi Kish, if you search this forum you will see extensive information regarding getting a visa in Vientiane, Laos. Everything is covered and all of your questions have already been answered. Use the search function.

I don't think you will find much of anything for 700 Baht! I may be wrong. I sincerely doubt you will find A/C and WiFi for that price!

If you have need for a longer stay you can probably obtain a two entry tourist visa (twice the price) from Vientiane if you want it. I suspect the bus service to Udon would be even cheaper that flight if you have the extra time. You submit application in morning and pick up visa next afternoon (workdays only).
