I am attempting to create a duplicate CD of my retail Ws "XP Pro" installation disk. I have copied the Ws CD to my hard drive using "CobianBackup" without any errors. I am attempting to burn the backup CD using Nero Express, which does have a "bootable" mode. I assume this means an "ISO" CD will be created.

I made a "bootable floppy" per instructions in Help and Support, which

Nero said I needed for incorporation into the CD. However, Nero says that file is not usable and the burning process is aborted.

What is going wrong?

Thanks, {redoak}

Use Nero Burning Rom (the full version, NOT Express). The full version has the option to accomplish a "CD COPY." There is no need to copy your CD to the hard drive and then try making a bootable CD.. The COPY CD feature makes an exact copy of the CD for you.

Or MagicIso .... But as said, no need to go the ISO way .... The original CDs are not protected ... Copying to your hard disk might give you an invalid copy of your CD if you don't copy the hidden files ....

ISO's may but not necessary bootable. For to create a bootable CD there must be an Binary file. Some Burner Software has that Binary file available so you can create a bootable CD on an easy way.

Cheers.
