ON Saturday NZ play Ireland, and as yet I have found no where to watch the rugby in Chiang Rai.

One hotel I stayed in has ABC(Australia Network) but this feed blanks out the rugby union feeds.

So any info hints or tips on where the rugby might playing would be great!!

Sorry SAP, you'd need to know for sure what channel it was on then ask a bar if they could have it on that night. this would include finding a bar that had that particular satellite available.

Although when I went to the hotel they had blanked out the rugby n the Australia network, which I assume the Asutralia Network feed is being recieved from Hong Kong, which in Hong Kong they love their rugby and the Pay Network stations out bidded Australia network there. This is really frustrating as in other parts of Thailand this does not happen, ie the feed is coming I think from Papa New Guinea.

Can anyone help or elaborate on this information??

The AN or Australia network is up linked direct from OZ to the Intelsat 8 satellite and then distributed to the Intelsat 2 and Intelsat 7/10 satellites.

The reason it is blanked out is quite simple.

The pub/hotel does not have the free subscription card from the ABC. Simply go to their web site australianetwork.com and ask for one, they will fedex it to you for free. Put the card in the set top box and watch the rugby for free.

But to my knowledge there is no Kiwi/Ireland match on the Australia network this weekend, all the rugby they play is the super 14's.

The problem is at the hotel, they are getting some cheap cable feed, so I guess I need to find the cable provider and get them to put the card in , at the point where they send their lines out??

IN all the other provinces in Thailand that have cable TV, I have never run into this problem.

Ok first of all I do apologise , as AN is carrying these matches this weekend. Silly me I was reading the wrong schedule. South Africa v Wales and then New Zealand v Ireland .

There are over 800 cableTV operators here in Thailand (most people here on TV think it is only UBC for some reason) , and they too can get the free AN card for free via the Thai Cable Association or from AN direct as the Thai Cable Assoc. have the re-broadcast rights across the country. In short there is no excuse for them not to have it.

My cdtv 410 box that I bought from you last year does not work this time around, even got a new card still nothing.

Two emails to jsat seeking advise have not been answered,so no encrypted sports for me this season.
