Ever get caught in a lie by a loved one, friend, relative, employee/employer, etc.? What was the sensation, stress, and finally the response? Did you recover?

When I was in my early twenties, I was in a shopping center with my then GF, and she caught me looking at another girl who happened to have the most incredible pair of breasts.

She asked me: "Why were you looking at her?"

In haste and attempting to BS my way out of the situation, I replied: "Did you see the shoes on her?"

She said: "Bino, she was wearing a dirty old pair of sneakers. What is the deal with that??"

BUSTED!

Of course, I hadn't paid the slightest bit of attention to the other girl's shoes. Now I know what it feels like when the ice parts and you fall through into the cold river below.

The recovery- I couldn't think of any other way out, so I 'fessed up and told her the truth. She actually thought it was pretty funny, and was very pleased with herself for nailing my *ss. It became an inside joke between us in that she would always ask me about other women: "What do you think of her shoes?"
