As of 1 October 2008, the price of a one way ticket from Krabi Town to Koh Phi Phi will increase from 350 baht to 450 baht. The three companies operating this route, P. P. Family, Chao Kor Group and Andaman Wave Master, reached a formal agreement after discussions with the Krabi Governor, Mr. Siwa Sirisaowalak. The governor said he was satisfied with the reason given for the increase, the rising cost of fuel, and added that operators will not be able to raise prices whenever they pleased in the future, as the local people must be considered. The new one-way ticket prices on the route Krabi - Koh Phi Phi - Krabi will be as follows: Adult - 450 baht, Child - 200 baht. Phi Phi residents, or workers - 150 baht. The ferry operators also considered increasing the number of ferries on the route from the current two round trips per day to four round trips per day during high season of November to April.

Andaman News NBT (VHF dial) at 8.30am & local Cable TV channel 1 + maybe FM90.5 Radio Thailand 6pm, broadcast to Phang Nga, Krabi & Phuket provinces, & possibly FM108 Mazz Radio 7.30pm in Phuket, Tuesday 10 June 2008 & http://thainews.prd.go.th/newsenglish/ Contact [email protected]

900thb roundtrip ? Pang ! That's outrageous.

Do Thai citizens pay the same? If I have a work permit or Thai driving license (to show residency) will I get the Thai rate? (If different which is usually the case)
