Click on “Start” - right click on top header – click on “Properties” navigate to “Task Bar Tab”

At the bottom check “Hide Inactive Icons” – then “Customize” then choose

“Hide when Inactive”

“Always Hide”

“Always Show”

Or if you start to reinstall Nero you have to option to “Change” there you can choose not to install the Back-Up utility if you don’t use it.

...or you may find it listed in the System Configuration Utility under the Startup tab. Just un-check it and restart. If you're not confident in making these sort of changes, then don't do it.

If Nero doesn't work properly afterwards, better re-check it again! :o

I un-checked "NeroCheck" (for Nero v7) to get rid of it without any noticeable problems.
