I just placed WinBubble1.73 to the Downloads of Thaivisa.

This nifty small program let you tweak Vista for your personal use on an easy way. The program didn't need resources, just at the time it runs a little bit.

It is a MUST for all Vista users.

Any comment please post here that everyone can benefit from your experiences.

Thanks.

Reimar, does this also disable those annoying balloon notices I can't figure out how to turn off? What about disabling the security feature which stops everything and asks me if I am sure I want to run the program I just clicked on?

Yes both of them.

Just download the file, extract it and run from it's directory. It will not install any dll or some of the bu*ldhitwhich cost resources.

If you want to use it more times, may you just create a shortcut and place that on the desktop.

The other thing is you should diable the UAC. To do that, just click on Start ->All Programs ->Accessories ->Run type in comend line: msconfig click on OK->Continue ->Tools, scroll down to Disable UAC and click on Launch. Close the Dos-Windows which will com up and restart the computer.

Cheers.

Windows Server 2003:

Slow transfer speed via USB in Server 2003. How to solve?

Veazer was found a solution (Thanks for that):

I found the solution to this problem... I have tested this and I can confirm it works. This is good information to have!

From this page: http://smallvoid.com/article/winnt-system-cache.html

...Win2k3 SP2 includes a new registry setting that controls how much physical memory, the file cache can use for data that has to be written to disk. By default the file cache can occupy half of the physical memory, so when copying a large file (>500 MByte) then it will read the file into the cache until it reaches the limit. When it reaches the limit it throttles the file reading until it has written the contents of the cache to disk. This can cause the memory manager to hang, along with all applications, so one should consider to limit the size of the write cache

Now to fix the problem, get more info here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/920739

After you install Windows Server 2003 SP2, you must add the SystemCacheDirtyPageThreshold registry entry to change the default behavior. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

2. Locate and then right-click the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\MemoryManagement

3. Point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

4. Type SystemCacheDirtyPageThreshold, and then press ENTER.

5. Double-click SystemCacheDirtyPageThreshold.

6. In the Value data box, type 0x20, and then click OK.

7. Exit Registry Editor.

Notes

• "0x20" corresponds to a decimal value of 32 MB.

• The range of values for the SystemCacheDirtyPageThreshold registry entry are as follows:

Minimum value: Total physical RAM in MB divided by 64

Maximum value: Total physical RAM in MB divided by 2

Default value: 0

The default value is a nonexistent key. If you add values that are out of range, your computer will revert to the default behavior. The value that you add is measured in MB.

How to Enable or Disable Windows Task Manager

Task Manager is a versatile task management and system utility in Windows operating system. With Task Manager, user can view detailed information about computer performance (CPU usage, physical memory, kernel memory, handle, thread, commit charge, etc.), running applications, processes, network activity and statistics, logged-on users, and system services.

Besides system information, Task Manager can also be used to set process priorities, processor affinity, forcibly terminate processes, and shut down, restart, hibernate or log off from Windows.

How to Disable Task Manager

1. Click Start -> Run, and then type regedit, then press Enter. In Windows Vista, just type regedit in Start Search, and press Enter.

2. Navigate to the following registry key:

To block Task Manager from current logged on user:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

To block Task Manager on local computer for all users:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Note that if “System” does not exist, simply create a new key by right clicking on Policies, and select New -> Key, and name the new folder as System.

3. Right click System registry key, and then select New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value.

4. Name the new registry entry as DisableTaskMgr.

5. Double click on DisableTaskMgr, and assign its value data as 1.

Fed up with accidentally shutting down your PC while some other utility is still running? You can remove the shutdown button from the Start menu in XP by adding this registry entry:

The registry key to modify is this one:

HKEY_CURRENT_USERU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

at the right pane, add a new "reg_dword" value named "NoClose" and give it the value "1". This will remove the shutdown button from start menu.
