Tywais
Husband. As eek says, it is the polite form for "husband" > สามี
danboksida1
sorry not sure if spell right, what does Samee mean? If you are writing in roman characters you can hardly speak of correct spelling this depends on your personal interpretation and what your mothertongue is (in my mothertongue it would be saamie). Samee or สามี means husband Edited June 22, 2008 by danboksida1
Virin
There is another word spelled and pronounced slightly different from สามี (husband), it's "สมี" with negative meaning, offensive term for males. สามี: Sa-Me = husand. Sa (สา) -long vowel. สมี: S-Mhee = the monk who falls into the major offense of the monastic disciplines, he must be disrobed immediately and cannot ordain to become a Buddhist monk again. S (ส) - short vowel. Mhee - rising tone, pronouced as หมี Edited June 22, 2008 by Virin
