Tourist Visa Change To 'imm B'

Featured Replies

Hi everybody, I have a tourist visa issued at the Thai consul in Vientienne Laos.

I need to know what is required to change this to a Non 'B' as I will be working as a teacher in a private (non goverment) school. I can get any required letters from my prospective employer but what else do i need.

thanks

Allan

You will require the letters and receipt for your work permit application at most Consulates in order to obtain a non immigrant B visa. You can make the application on your current entry stamp but will need the B visa for it to be issued.

I just tried this myself.

School certificate copies must be certified by your embassy. No idea what they need, I did not get that far because the work certificates need to be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are happy to do this if youshow original, copy, Nang Sue Rab Rong of the company and the ORIGINAL passport of the person that signed your work certificate...

You are talking about conversion at Immigration for extension of stay I believe - the poster should be able to change visa at a Consulate without all the extra involved with extension of stay.

right, this refers to making the conversion at the immigration. At a consulate abroad it is of course easier!
