1000 Baht Washing Machines?

Featured Replies

Anybody have some experience with the 1000-2000 baht clothes washers that look like a little garbage can with a frisbee on the bottom inside? I saw one today that even had a little spinner as well, the size of a small man's hat, so cute. Hand washing clothes 2 hours a day is fun but I was thinking of trying some other hobby too, one that didn't make my thumbnails bleed. I have a small apartment and a larger washer seems a bit drastic. Another home for the geckos and malahng-things as well.

Not sure about the real cheap ones.

I have a twin tub unit costing approx $200 which does a very good job.

These 1000 baht washing machines dont work.

I put in my 1000 baht note and the machine ripped it to pieces.

Always wondered about those tubs... what are the two spaces for ...one for wash one for rinse? I have a top loading machine but only one tub...

The wife loves them. Mako 1100bt and good for a couple of years and then sell to the rubish man for 150bt and buy a new one...........

I had one of those for a year or so when I lived in a condo.

The GF of the time didn't like to take her underwear to the laundry so it was great for this use.

Had it for over a year, then gave it to a friend when I moved to a house.

Good value

My old Mum used to use one back in England.

Great little thing.

Had a tub with a screw on lid we used when we went camping. Put in the clothes the soap the water and set it in the back of the car. The rougher the road the better the job it did.

I have a great one that only costs 900 baht a month, her name is Dao and she comes from Nong Kai.

But does she have a screw on lid? I don't want anyone doing my underwear, I'm worried they might steal it and try to sell it as art.

The larger tub is for wash & rinse, and the smaller tub is for spin-dry.

@900 baht per month she probably can't afford any. Is it possible to do jeans in the little machines. (that was jeans, not Jean.)
