We are having a great run in the Kao Keow hills down towards Pattaya on Saturday July 12th. About 1hr 15min drive from BKK. (Near the Khao Kheow Country Club)

It will have a short version and a long version of the run. Short will be about 9.5KM and will take about 1hr, 20 minutes. The long will be about 15KM and will be close to 2.5 hours.

If you're not a runner but a walker, you could add about 15 to 20 minutes on to the time required for the short run.

The short run will consist of mainly walking because it'll be mostly through the bush and too difficult to really run through most of this stuff but an amazing jungle trail nonetheless. Followed by 20 minutes running to the water stop. We'll convene at the water stop, allow everybody to catch up and then the short runners/walkers will run 20 to 30 minutes back to starting point following the "live hares". The long runners will continue on a additional 10KM though hills and incredible views.

This is a social run/walk and is not competitive unless you're really fast and want to stretch it out, then that's ok too but anyway, it's not a race.

Details of this chapter of the Hash House Harrier event can be found at: http://www.pattayahash.com/pattayabush.html

We are a running/walking/social drinking club that meet once per month somewhere towards the hills of Pattaya. This month's event is only about 1.25 hours from Bangkok so Bangkokians have no excuse not to go.

All are welcome, you don't need to be a runner. Our average age is well over 40 and that number is vastly lowered by the girlfriends/wives of many of the members. The trail will be well marked so you won’t get lost. Many people walk the whole trail, many run, a few run really fast. All good fun so come on down.

BTW, after the run is a very silly, childish ritual of chatting about the run, making fun of each other and being forced to consume small glasses of beer (water if you don't like to drink beer) to atone for real or fraudulent sins committed on the run.

This will be a great chance to see a part of Thailand that you would never normally see. Fantastic views, beautiful trails through the bush that rarely see a human and even a chance to consume a beer or 2 afterwards.

Feel free to pm me with questions like “how would I get there? I don’t have a car” I’ll respond explaining concepts like “how to meet up with other drivers that are heading down” or just go to the web site, get the directions, steal a car and head on down!!!

Wow, not even one reply to this!!!

What's up? Nobody is interested in doing a beautiful run in the hills and having and enjoying an hour or so afterwords with all the other enjoymentologists?

There must be tons of folks that like to run and have a good time.

Don't be shy, com'on down.

Basecamp, is there a run every two weeks or so?

I would be happy to see a run report on the thread and a notice of the next run about a week prior to the day for people interested.

You might garner more interest if you skip the running nonsense part and get straight to the silly childish drinking games.

:o

Hmmm, point taken but that kind of takes away from the event. Makes the beer that much better after a great hill run/walk event.

The Pattaya event is once a month. It's usually in the hills between BKK and Pattaya but generally much closer to Pattaya.

There are a number of hashes in BKK. Mixed events on Mondays and Wednesdays and once a month on full moon Fridays as well as a men only on Saturday.

You can go to www.bangkokhhh.com which is the Bangkok Saturday hash web site and it has links to all the local hash events in Thailand and actually around the region too.

I'll see about getting the run report out.

Hash races are quite fun. Certainly not childish - done all over the world and quite popular I might add. :D

Huh! So now its running, drinking and funny fags!! :o

I like the idea of having a run and seeing a bit of the countryside. I'm not sure I could run nad drink though. I find it difficult enough to do either on their own. I will try to make it to the next one if possible.
