I have a problem opening Hotmail from my own computer.

In the bottom left hand corner the word "javascript" appears.Clicking on the message and nothing opens.

In internet cafe there is no problem.

Have tried holding down Ctrl and F5 but to no avail.

Have tried finding a link as to where I can send a message, but none seems available.

Any ideas gratefully accepted.

Maybe you try to update to the latest Java script from Sunmicro. You can download the latest version from HERE

Cheers.

^ Pardon.? The link is to Java not JavaScript.

JavaScript is delivered as required and is a text script which is managed by the browser, AKA ECMA.

Chivas, what are the exact symptoms of you failure?

Regards

The exact problem is then when you click on the intended message, the message header is "rectangled" as always but nothing further happens.

The message in the bowser is javascript; ?

What browser are you using?

Regards

No cursor doesnt turn into hand.

^ OK. Looks like the page is not loading correctly, since if the cursor doesn't change then it is not a link, though it would display JavaScript {with a training semi-colon}. Suggest that you consider upgrading to IE 7 as a start, which will reduce some anomalies and make it easier to diagnose.

Regards.

I believe this is a sympton of microsoft 'upgrading' their hotmail just recently. The newer version has made a problem with opening up emails. I use opera, and I get the exact same problem and symptoms as the OP. I do not know how to fix it yet, so if anyone can offer advice that would be great. In the meantime I am using IE6 without difficulty (besides the fact that it is a horrible browser). However, I have read about users of IE6, firefox (temporarily...I believe it is fixed now), and most often opera all having the same problem.
