TOT Plc yesterday announced a plan to invest 30 billion baht in third-generation mobile-phone services to be ready for commercial launch within one year. The announcement came after TOT signed a memorandum of understanding with CAT Telecom yesterday for the rights and management of the 1900 MHz spectrum to provide 3G services.

Could be good, most 3G equipment can handle 1900 Mhz.

Will take a while though from memorandum to implementation

Shouldn't they focus on making their other services work first?

How many announcements of 3G networks have there been in Thailand over the last three or four years? And still we wait! I won't be holding my breath.

maybe their plan is to just give up on their non-working DSL and switch everyone to 3G
