Can I Get A Part Time Cook Service?

Featured Replies

I'm a single guy who plans to stay in a small apartment when I move to bangkok. I can afford more but just don't want to. So there is no need for me to get any sort of full time maid service.

However, I try to eat healthy and have done so in the states by surviving on mainly cold meals that usually aren't that filling. One thing that would make me feel like a rich man would be to have a personal cook.

But again I don't need someone who stays in the place, I wouldn't have room for that anyways. So I'm wondering if Thailand has part time chef services like found in the states? A guy that comes by, makes a few meals (healthy ones, not junk food delivery) and bubble wraps them for me to warm later would be ideal.

Or I've read that some apartments come with maid service which I don't want to pay for. But if there is a setup for cook service only then that would be good too.

Thanks

To start your healthy plan why dont you walk down the stairs walk along the street and buy some healthy food walk back along the street and back up the stairs. Do that 3 times a day and hey presto you will become more healthy than sitting down waiting for a chef to cook for you!

You never have to cook for yourself in Bangkok. There's healthy food to be found all over the place. Just buy some on the street and take it to your room like the guy said.

Some apartments also have a small kitchen with a resident cook so you can order up food.

It's a myth that Thai street food is so healthy. Most if it is fried and full of sugary carbs, not to mention covered in god-knows-what from sitting exposed on the roadside. Also adding a tablespoon of MSG to your diet 3 times per day can't be healthy.

There is very healthy food to be found in Thailand, but its not usually cheap nor on the roadside. I think the OP's idea to get somebody to prepare their meals at home is a wonderful idea for somebody who is concerned about health.

The overweight people who lose weight when they come to Thailand are losing it for several reasons... not eating as much, actually getting off their fat ass and walking around, sweating it off, etc.

You're right about this "myth".

Many people sound like "Tintin in Congo" when it comes to thai food. It's pathetic.

"Oh dear ! Look at those cute eatery on the street, it smell good and it's soooooo exotic. Must veryyyyyyyyy healthy".

:o

People should wake up a little bit. What about the quality of the products ? Cheap meat and vegetables full of chemicals, fertilizers, produced with poor controls you name it, many of them imported now from China....

Hum aroi. Very healthy. :D

having a mobile phone number from a motorbike guy, that fat guy know where the food is good and brings the best dishes from different restaurants for 50 Baht+50 Baht tipp.
