Hi everyone.

Can anyone give me any advice on exporting my 12 year old dog back to the u.k. via France. i believe that there is a way to avoid U.k. quarantine this way? Has anyone had any experience with an organisation called q.u.a.f.f. who, i believe are active in trying to bring about change to the quarantine laws ?

I would be very grateful to receive any constructive advice on procedures to export and any info on agents who specialise on travel arrangements.

Many thanks

Haven't heard of q.a.u.f.f. yet.

But so far I know, if you want to send your via France to England, then your dog has to stay in France for at least 6 months.

For sending a dog to the UE you have to send first his/her blood to a registered lab where they test it for rabies antibodies. Once the test results are known, the dog has to stay another three months in Thailand before you can send him/her to France. Furhtermore, all vaccinations need to be up to date, meaning your dog should have recieved them not less than 30 days or more than 1 year prior to sending the blood to France.

With the rabies test result and a special document that goes with this (they should send it to you together with the test results), the vaccination book (with the stamp and signature from the vet and the sticker of the vaccination bottle) and a copy of the vax book with your signature, your passport, and copy of your passport with your signature, you go not more than 5 days to the Animal Quarantine Center in Bkk, CM or Phuket and request for a health certificate and an export permit. In franmce you need to request for an import permit, which can be done over the internet usually.

Oh, and make sure your dog feels comfortable in the crate. If not yet, better to start crate training him/her now.

Hope this helps and that I haven't forgotten anything
