Status Quo Beats 'the Man'

Featured Replies

The election process is in full swing in our town which means pickups park up and blare out their respective messages to the annoyance of everyone.

This morning they started before 7 am and as I had minimal sleep due to the chickens etc I was in a mood to fight back.

Near our house is a convenient point to park up and play the political messages so I was prepared with my own sound system.

Pickup parked up and started his message and was met with Paper Plane by Status Quo.

No contest!!! He moved off and to cap a small victory I got a thumbs up from the lady across the Soi as she left for work.

A few months ago, I had a similar problem at the start of the "Bang Fi" parade, pick-up parked right outside my front door and let rip with the "Old Morlam" classics. Didn't have any Status Quo handy but Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll" did the trick. He moved up the street about 100 yards and continued his assault on any passing ear drums.

Both sounds equally horrendous. :o

Only a few days to go. Until they have another election for something. It must be a really democratic country with all these elections going on. :o Around here it's the mobile speaker vans and markets that are the problem. Just what is this election for? I ask my wife and she says she does not know.
