How Does 6 Months Rule Work?

Featured Replies

can someone please explain how the 30 day entry rules work, "within 6 months".

am i allowed to get as many 30 day entries as i want, maximum 90 days total stay inside Thailand, within a 6 month period?

how is the 6 month period calculated? is it six months prior to the date I'm entering Thailand?

Can someone suggest a link to a thread that explains how that works?

thank you!!

From date of first entry using visa exempt.

And as many entries as you want up to the limit.

above is an old link but gives good advice etc

3 as lop and lb said as many as up to the 6 months

if you havnt got a visa from some ie consulte or embassy and you just arrive here, you are given the 30 days as you say, so that starts as you enter the country.

if your looking to find out if you can stay say 3 months?? basically yes but you must do a border run 2 times!

now this one back to lop and lb, if jaansin wanted to come in and out everyday for 90 days would he be allowed? i dont know?

when i go do border runs they put no's on the passport eg 1 2 3 full, but thats cos i do 30 days a time!

Yes but he might get dizzy. :o

The day you enter counts as a whole day.

Hi all, I have a similar question, didnt want to post a new thread. Any tips/info/suggestion for me?

I arrived in Thailand (from Canada) on visa exempt last July 18.

I will be staying here until January.

From what I understand, I can do a border run 2 times - but that only accounts for 90 days...

What should I do after that?

Go to Vientienne Laos and get a double entry tourist visa next month.

That will give you almost 6 months with extensions.

ok, thank you Lite Beer.
