Slinky
Hi I try to eat around 1500 calories a day and then input all the info into a tracker. However I can't find the calories for my favourite thai meals does anyone know the calories in an average portion of any of these?: chicken green curry chicken red curry chicken penang curry chicken Massaman chicken cashew nuts steamed lemon fish fried fish in 3 spices chicken pat thai fried rice with chicken fried morning glory papaya salad Meiji strawberry yogurt Any suggestions or a link to a website listing thai foods would be great. Thanks for your help.
Boo
The problem I see with trying to pin down how many calories in these foods will depends alot on who is doing the cooking. What kind of oils they are using, how much coconut milk (fattening) what cut of meat (lean or fatty) to get a real indication of calorific value. I know the weightwatchers site has some thai food calculations, not sure if you have to join up though to see it though.
sbk
Hi, Slinky, I am going to move this to the Thai food forum, the foodies tend to hang out there and might have a better idea. Another suggestion is the I'm too fat forum (not suggesting you are fat but the dieters hang out there)

Thanks for your help. I think the problem you have, even with a short list of dishes like that, is that it's a bit like asking ''How many calories are in breakfast?'' It kinda depends. Nothing vs slice of toast (no butter), black coffee and OJ vs fried eggs, sausages, bacon, black pudding, fried toms, baked beans, fried slice (x2), 1lb lard, etc., etc. I think the only way you can be sure(ish) is to cook your own food. PS The yoghurt has it written on the side.

I cook my own Thaifood and use many calorie short cuts, more veg, less and better oil for stir frying, plenty of sliced cucumber on the side....
