DTiger
Hello, I am looking for some hints or advices... I do intend to hire a professional photographer and get some shots. But I know nothing about laws/rules here. Many photographers offer some kind of package... Who is then going to be the owner of all pictures? Will be the photographer be allowed to do whatever he/she likes with the pictures (Publish them, modify them...)? Do I have (as a modele ) any kind of protection on my own image? Thanks
The Vulcan
The photographer always owns the image rights but needs a model release to market them universally. Assuming you do not sign such a release you severely restrict his subsequent marketing of same. This, however, will not in itself prevent unwelcome exposure. I would suggest you arrange a contract with the photographer forbidding any commercial or otherwise use. If they are professional this should not pose a problem. percy2
It depends on the contract you have with the photographer. Cheers
Hoopster
You have protection unless you sign a model release allowing the photographer to use your image commercially. You could sign an agreement allowing specific use.
