Last Thursday we were watching ER (Mondays –Fridays 5pm on Hallmark) when at the end of the episode two of the main characters, that nice young doctor Carter and the lively new intern Lucy were both stabbed by a demented patient.

So there they were both laying on the floor in one of the exam rooms gazing into each others eyes as the life blood drained slowly from their limp bodies.

While this was happening right outside the closed door in the main reception area the rest of the staff were enjoying themselves having a valentine party completely unaware of the tragedy unfolding in the room right there.

All very dramatic, probably one of the most dramatic cliffhangers of the whole season. We couldn’t wait for Friday to see what happened next.

Looking at the magazine listing it showed that ER would NOT be showing on this Friday instead there was a movie Mr. Nick (about Xmas I presume – in July!!!)

Of all the times not to show ER on Friday as usual this was probably the worst time, who makes these decisions?

Franticly scrambling through the listings we see the next ER is on Monday as usual but the episode is No 15 not the follow-up to the cliffhanger ending of episode No 13 – WHAT!!!!

Further scrambling reveals that the missing episode No 14 is on Monday at 1pm.

Do the program schedulers have any idea of continuity?

While I’m on the subject just notice in this months magazine on the “Not to miss” page on Friday 1st. they recommend F1.

I know there is practice on the Friday before a race but this is not normally screened so I thought perhaps this is something new. But no there is nothing about F1 listed for Friday just the usual qualifying on Sat with the race on Sunday.

Don’t you just love it.
