junkofdavid2
Can you suggest where to buy a portable cheap divider/partition for my studio apartment? I don't like my bed being exposed for my guests to see.... (at least not right away! ) The only ones I've seen are the really fancy ones at furniture shops, very expensive... and even then it is rare. Just a simple one made of wood or whatever, or even just a wooden frame with a nice cloth in the middle. Any suggestions?

RubbaJohnny
I could rent my wife but shes hi maintainance A roll up raffia screen Also saw a cheap copy of folding Japense screen about 2x2m when open in Big C didnt see price but it was cheap and cheerful. You may also disguise your bed with a tiger skin?
junkofdavid2
That japanese folding screen seems to be what I'm looking for. Hopefully I can find it in a Big C near me. (Oh, as for the Tiger skin, I'll save that for "amazon night" ) Any other suggestions as to where any of you saw something similar? Here's a pic of an example: Edited August 11, 2008 by junkofdavid2

Here's a pic of an example: The one I saw was in Big C C Rai but nowhere near as nice as your foto or the real ones in Japanese Ryokan I stayed in which was beautiful lacquered wood and paper I guess a handier man than me could knock it up with 2x2 and paper hinges etc. Sadly as we know the Thais are not really handymen esp for falang desins and the real Handymen are clutching a lass and a glass. Big C have website mostly in Thai with phone numbers etc
longball53098
Try an Index store or another one of the furniture stores
bggg
Try the nicer rattan or bamboo shops. I bought one a coule of years ago at a small Thai shop I believe it was about 600 bht. Not like your picture but a dark stained frame with woven panels.
