Msi Wind Vs. Asus & Acer

Featured Replies

After reading a bit of reviews, i've decided to get mini notebook (most likely MSI) for my travels.

Has anyone seen them on sale here in Bangkok (or S'pore,HK anywhere nearby). Where can i get the best price ?

And of course any comparative suggestions (with eee/acer) are most welcome !

There are quite a few related threads on here over the past few weeks.

I have been looking into this for a couple of weeks and have decided the Asus is the way to go. The Asus all seem to have 6 cell battery’s now which is much better then any of the others. This is a very important factor for me having been disappointed with laptop battery’s before. The Asus 901 is the model prior to the latest 1000 model. The 1000 is more expensive and bigger, which for me is edging towards normal size. The 901 has the Intel Atom processor 20g memory, Bluetooth and everything else needed by me, with great battery and small size. Price around 16000 in Pantip. Acer One and MSI don't have such good battery life and have not been tried and tested like the Asus machines. I think the Acer and MSI may be a little cheaper though. I am going to wait a month or so as I don't need it just yet. Hopefully the prices may be down further by then.

I have an Advent 4211 (the UK version of the Wind and £50 cheaper!). It's an excellent machine. The 10" screen is just the right size and allows for a decent size keyboard. 80GB hard drive and XP Home. Battery life is a little poor but aftermarket batteries are being designed.Brilliant!

I got the Acer because its about 20 percent cheaper than the Asus 901 and the MSI Wind.

Specs wise its almost the same.

Well i'm typing this from the freshly bought asus 1000 . 18500 it was (cheaper if u can refund vat)..

Only saw one place that offers MSI.. Forune town ground floor. 15999+vat & you have to wait almost a month !

Yes i agree it's darn expencive (one can get normal laptop for this price!). But it does feel like a serious machine.

which can be dragged around, and you get original Windows with it.. let me make Billy G. happy for once in my life :D

Keyboard quality is shitty thou, wonder how long it'll last..

Btw. Acer is NOT cheaper, but exact same price spec for spec ! for a thousand more one can have same sized HP . which looks tougher built . But unfortunately no more 8-9000 baht toys :o .. cheapest acer with vat 8gig only!!>>13990

I like the sound of the lenovo S9

Express card slot to take a HSPDA modem and built in card reader - only downside seems to be the lack of SSD.
