I used this site to unlock a Nokia 3510i Orange PAYG phone in the U.K. at no cost. Orange wanted £20 for this service, and Internet websites were charging £3 up. So it really works, somewhat to my surprise ... nice little earner for the sites which charge for this 'public' information. Covers the Thai networks also.

I think most shops here will unlock a phone for 100 baht. Personally I'd rather have someone experienced do this as you can brick the phone if you enter the wrong unlock code more than 3 times.
