So - as some people on the other thread on this had recommended, I sent email to Apple directly, telling them my story. Actually, I addressed it to Steve Jobs. I know he isn't going to read it, but he has people who do.

Soon thereafter, I got contacted by Janine Beach, execute relations specialist for Asia Pacific and Japan. I held off calling her until I knew the final answer regarding the battery. Turns out I didn't need to.

Yesterday I get a call from MacZone. They have a new logic board waiting for me, and are going to take care of my swapped out battery. Apple had provided a special out of warranty replacement logic board. I just got the machine back from the dealer who installed said logic board free of charge, and gave me a new battery. The manager was there to personally make sure everything is OK.

Took a while but the end result really couldn't be better. I am one happy customer now :o:D

That is awesome news. Apple, as opposed to MacZone, realize how important this is to their publicity. One guy talking bad is worse that 100 guys talking good about a product.

I don't think other should expect this treatment, but it is a good sign that Apple take their customers serious and I am fairly sure that MacZone will have to answer a few questions to Apple.

I think you handled this situation extremely well..
