From the Bangkok Post:

"[Prime Minister Samak] was responding to charges made in May by a group of Thai senators, who charged Mr Samak with violating the constitution by continuing his job as a TV presenter on his personal cooking show, Chim pai, bon pai (Tasting and Complaining), after he had been appointed prime minister on Feb 6."

The name of the program is "ชิมไป บ่นไป". Certainly we can come up with a more pithy translation than "tasting and complaining". Any suggestions?

My wife says that "ชิมไป บ่นไป" is a legitimate Thai saying meaning the actions of a cook who is constantly adjusting his or her recipe as he or she periodically tastes the pot. Could this also apply to a person who sits down to eat a bowl of "ก๋วยเตี๋ยว" and who constantly adjusts the taste with vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, and pepper, not becoming entirely satisfied until the last spoonful?
